Doors and change

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."
--Helen Keller

I've been feeling changes knocking at my door.
Changes in my life.
In my time.
In my creativity.
And in my business.
I haven't yet known what all the changes are, but I hope I am being open to finding them.
Or being still enough to let them find me.
Sometimes knowing when to push forward in seeking and when to be quiet in listening is a challenge for me.

What about you?
Do you hunt changes down or wait for them to arrive?

I am one who seeks change -- although sameness is comfortable but boring. Happiness is such an elusive word. We are happy because we don't know anything different? We are unhappy because we don't know anything different. Change will bring us happiness or change will doom us to be unhappy. Sort of a cup half empty/full analogy. I seek out change because my spirit doesn't know how to settle. Change in job, change in home, change in number of dogs, change in responsibilities. Is settling down really just plain settling?

By the way, interesting quote from Helen Keller. Amazing words that we may have missed if someone settled for not being able to communicate with her.
